Spider-Man: Homecoming – GFX/VFX Reel

Cantina’s VFX team, led by Venti Hristova and Stephen Lawes, worked with Production VFX Supervisor Janek Sirrs and Director Jon Watts to create over 200 shots for Spider-Man: Homecoming. In 3-1/2 months Cantina assembled a talented team of artists to produce a variety of HUD graphics, holograms and monitor designs.

BAG MAN

BAG MAN is the understated story of a 12 year old African American boy, who takes us on an introspective journey out of the city and into the remote countryside of upstate New York. With a mysterious duffle bag in hand, its contents unknown to us, we journey from the urban hustle of Harlem, into the winter-ravaged woodlands a world away. On the road, we slowly discover his real intentions, and the startling significance of what is hidden inside a young boy’s bag.

The Man Who Turned Paper Into Pixels

It was the change that no-one saw coming: the idea that we could take a book, a painting or a song and send it through cables and wires and even thin air to the other end of the world – and it would be identical on the other side. But this idea underpins everything about the Information Age we live in.

How did we make such a mind bending transition into the digital world? And how does it work? It turns out it’s all based on a concept that is surprisingly beautiful in its simplicity. This short video essay explores what that idea is and tells you about the man who figured it all out.

Computers are everywhere and control almost every aspect of our lives. In the next 6 minutes you’ll find out how they really work.

IRON MAN 3 : HUD + GFX PROCESS REEL

From Johnny Likens.

All of the 3D elements, including a miniature version of the suit and the holographic helmet, were generated and rendered from CINEMA 4D. These graphics had true 3D depth, which heightened the stereo viewing experience as well as the interactive light qualities that are both photo-real and immersive.

This is a process montage that was created to give some insight into the development and design thinking stages of the work Johnny was specifically involved with on the film.
